Why I Built This
Most crypto tax tools want your wallet API keys, a monthly subscription, or both — just to tell you roughly what you might owe. I wanted something simpler: type in a few numbers, get an estimate, close the tab. No account, no sync, no data leaving your browser. That's what CryptoTaxSentry is. A free calculator for capital gains and staking income tax estimates, built for individual traders and stakers in the US and UK.
How It's Run
This is an independent, self-funded project I run on my own — not a company, not a team. I built the calculator, I write the guides, and I read every email that comes in through the Contact page. The site is supported by ads, which is what keeps it free to use.
What Makes It Different
Your numbers — purchase price, sale price, staking rewards — are processed entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing is sent to a server or stored anywhere. You can check this yourself by opening your browser's network tab while using the calculator: no financial data leaves your machine.
What This Isn't
This is a planning tool, not a filing tool. It gives you a fast estimate so you can understand roughly where you stand before you sell or unstake — it doesn't replace a CPA, and it won't generate audit-ready tax documents. For your actual filing, talk to a qualified tax professional.

I'm a developer, not a CPA or tax attorney. I research each guide carefully and link directly to the official IRS and HMRC pages I used, but nothing on this site has been reviewed by a licensed tax professional. Treat it as a starting point for understanding your situation, not a final answer for filing.
