At CryptoTaxSentry.com, we built this tool specifically so we wouldn’t need to collect your financial data in the first place. This policy explains exactly what we do and don’t collect, and why.
1. The Calculator Doesn't Store Your Data
Every number you enter — purchase price, selling price, units held, staking rewards — is processed entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. None of it is sent to a server, saved in a database, or transmitted anywhere. If you close the tab, it’s gone. We have no record of what you calculated, ever.
2. What We Do Collect
Like virtually every website, our server and analytics tools automatically log standard visit data: IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and time of visit. This is aggregate traffic data — it’s not linked to your name or identity, and we use it only to understand how people use the site and fix problems.
3. Cookies
We use cookies for two purposes: remembering basic site preferences, and serving advertising (see below). You can block or delete cookies anytime in your browser settings without affecting the calculator’s functionality.
4. Advertising and Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics to measure traffic, and Google AdSense to serve ads. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show you ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can control how Google personalizes ads to you here:
5. Your Rights (UK/EEA Visitors – GDPR)
If you’re located in the UK or EEA, you have the right to know what data is processed about you, request its deletion, and object to processing for advertising purposes. Since we don’t store personal or financial data server-side, there is very little to request — but for any analytics/advertising cookie questions, contact us using the details below. We rely on your consent for non-essential cookies, which you can withdraw at any time via your browser settings or any cookie banner presented on the site.
6. Your Rights (California Visitors – CCPA)
California residents have the right to know what categories of information are collected and to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. Ad partners may collect data for personalized advertising as described above; you can opt out using the links in Section 4.
7. Children's Privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the site or applicable law changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will always reflect the most recent revision.
